Framing the stairs

Next step is to build the frames for the stairs into the mikvah.

Please support our mikvah project, with either a one-time donation (using the progress widget to the right) or recurring monthly donations (above the progress widget). For dedication opportunities, please contact Rabbi Rabinowitz. All donations are tax deductible.

The frame that will hang on the wall of the mikvah, to which the planks that frame the fronts of the stairs (the "risers") will be attached.

The frame for the side of the stairs in the mikvah. The square hole is to leave access to under the stairs while they are curing. The long, skinny piece on the left it the side of the first landing (at a depth of 4'4"). Note the void beneath it; that is for the second landing (at a depth of 4'8") to be poured and connected to the stairs as a single unit.

The support for the frame of the bottom of the stairs.

The framework for the stairs being connected in place.

The frame for the bottom of the stairs and the brace on the opposite wall.

The stairs and landings framed, with supporting rebar and wall braces.

The stairs all ready to pour! Risers are in place, everything is braced to the teeth.
