Excavation – Vac Truck, Day Four

Boy, this is exciting! Matrix is almost finished with the excavation, and the pit is huge! Twenty five feet long, twenty one feet wide, and nearly ten feet deep!

They continue to encounter clay on one side of the pool, which is not a big deal – it’s just heavier than sand or gravel. They’ve cleared most of the clay away, and are almost ready to access the bottom of the pool to punch through the main drain. Another day and they should be there. The work is progressing nicely!

Please support our mikvah project, with either a one-time donation (using the progress widget to the right) or recurring monthly donations (above the progress widget). For dedication opportunities, please contact Rabbi Rabinowitz. All donations are tax deductible.

That's a whole lot of rocks! Anybody want to build a nice stone fence? For a generous donation, you can come haul these away yourself!

Running water! I'm told there were cracks in the walls of the swimming pool, and that may be the source of the groundwater we face. I asked Rabbi Rabinowitz if this could count as a ma'ayan (a natural spring that can be used as a mikvah) but he said no, because we don't know what the source is.
